"Songwriters in the Round"
hosted by Bill Whyte of the B105.1
Morning Show, starring Brady Seals and
Mike Reid
Friday, May 23, 2008
Each of the artists will perform their
own set of uniquely styled music and
stories. However, at the end of the
night, it is the union of soaring vocals
and genuine camaraderie that makes this
event so special.

Brady Seals
There are certain artists who make you stand up and take notice. Brady Seals has that commanding charisma. He is the cousin of Jim Seals (of Seals & Crofts) and Dan Seals, as well as the nephew of Troy Seals. He began cultivating his talent when he discovered the piano at age nine. He joined a band and left home at age seventeen. By the age of twenty-one he had a gold record on the wall. After a six-year stint with the multi-platinum band, Little Texas, Brady embarked on a solo career, releasing three albums. Brady
started the band Hot Apple Pie and is currently enduring a rigorous touring schedule. www.bradyseals.com
Mike Reid
Reid was named All-America in 1969 while playing at Penn State under coach Joe Paterno. Reid was the first-round selected (#7 pick overall) of the Cincinnati
Bengal's in the 1970 NFL Draft. He made two trips to the Pro Bowl (1972 and 1973) before his retirement following the 1974 season due to knee and hand injuries and his desire to focus on a music career. Was the 1996 recipient of the NFL Alumni Career Achievement Award for his success in his post-NFL career.
Between football seasons, Reid would perform as a pianist for the Utah Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. During this time, he met Larry Gatlin (a member of country music group The Gatlin Brothers), who helped Reid start his songwriting career. In 1984, he won the Grammy Award for Best Country Song with "Stranger in My House", which was sung by Ronnie Milsap. In the 1980s, Reid wrote 11 number one hits. In 1990, Reid started his own singing career, recording two albums for CBS Records. He also wrote Bonnie Raitt's pop standard "I Can't Make You Love Me". Reid was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.
