We serve adolescent males, adolescent females, adult men
and adult women.
Do you have to live in Butler
County to receive services?
Yes,
to receive services at Sojourner Recovery Services you
must be a Butler County Resident or referred by one of
our contractual agencies.
How do I go
about receiving services?
To receive services you must complete an assessment.
All assessments are done at
1430 University Blvd. in Hamilton Ohio across from Miami
University Hamilton campus.
Adult Assessments are done on
Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

IHow long is your waiting list for services? The
waiting list for each location is different and it fluctuates.
It is also dependent on your assessment information and
the type of program you are referred to.
How long is your treatment program? This is very
individualized, usually from 3 to 6 months, but this
depends on your commitment and success.
How much does it cost? We are funded by the
county and through private donations. Cost is based on a
sliding fee scale, however we do not turn anyone away
because of inability to pay.
What can I bring to treatment? It is a good idea
to bring 1-2 weeks worth of clothes (we do have a washer
& dryer available), radio with headphones, cigarettes
(cigarettes are not allowed for Adolescent Residential
Treatment),
and a few dollars for vending machines. Other items
include toiletries, blankets, pillows and alarm clock.
Please do not bring valuables because we can't be
responsible for theft.
Do you accept insurance? No. We do not file
insurance but individuals can submit to their
insurance company. You are recommended to check with
your insurance company regarding reimbursement.
we do accept all forms of
Butler County Medicaid or you can choose to self pay on
a sliding fee scale basis.
Can I bring my kids to treatment? Men can not
bring their children to treatment, but women can. If you
have custody, we
have space available for 2 children, age newborn to 11
years old.
Is treatment confidential? Yes, you are required
to sign disclosure of consents for referral sources and
other agencies that you may be involved with.
Do you have mental health counselors? No, we are
primarily a substance abuse organization. We do have a
psychiatrist on staff who can recommend medications. Our
primary therapy models are designed to accommodate
co-occurring disorders. Frequently, our clients have
co-occurring issues; however, if the mental health issue
is not stabilized, we cannot treat them appropriately
until it is.
How do I get into treatment? Schedule and attend
an assessment to determine eligibility. If you are
recommended for residential treatment, you will be
placed on the waiting list, you will be contacted when a
bed is available for you. If your contact information
changes you will need to call and provide this update.
What if I need detox services? We do have a
contract with an out of county facility. However, we
utilize this facility with great discretion. Suboxone
and Campral can be used on an individual basis.
